Bringing ancient wisdom and modern soul to Jewish communities across the country.

Why Stories? Why Poetry? Why Brian?

Judaism is a tradition of words—words spoken and sung, chanted and whispered, woven into stories that have carried us through generations. The Torah itself is a story, endlessly unfolding, waiting for us to engage, interpret, and bring it alive.

That’s where I come in!

I am Brian Rohr, a Jewish poet and storyteller. I live at the intersection of ancient wisdom and creative expression, using poetry and performance to awaken the sacred stories in all of us.

Whether it’s a Friday night drash woven with poetry, a full storytelling performance, or an immersive artist-in-residence weekend, my work invites people into deeper connection—with themselves, their community, and our tradition.

A Book to Mark Sacred Moments

Shaken to My Bones: A Poetic Midrash on the Torah

Shaken to My Bones: A Poetic Midrash on the Torah is a deeply personal and evocative collection of poetry by Brian Rohr that journeys through the weekly Torah portions with heart, honesty, and imagination. These poems are both ancient and immediate—reimagining sacred texts through a contemporary lens. With reverence, struggle, and wonder, Rohr invites readers into conversation with tradition, offering a creative gateway for b’nai mitzvah students, seekers, and anyone yearning for meaning in Jewish learning. Published by Ben Yehuda Press as part of their Jewish Poetry Project, this book is a companion for sacred moments and soulful reflection.

This book is more than poetry—it’s an invitation to engage with our tradition in a new way.
